Several years in the making, Excon’s debut full length is finally being prepped for delivery. These four North Main daddios are taking you on a journey inward finding hazard, heartbreak and hope. Like deadheads plucked for new growth, New Life is a bin full of compost generating heat with tales of the heartbroken sailor, the information minister, the trapeze artist, the fearful theologian, the hard-hearted philanderer, the muscle car enthusiast, the reluctant philanthropist and the self-blinded prophet. These odd birds eventually find peace through humility but not without their share of suffering. Now with that behind them, we welcome a new season. Let’s pray for good weather.

Excons Greenville, South Carolina

Excons are an electric piano four piece rock band playing and self releasing material since 2014. All four have played in other bands, but John played in the indie-rock band Fruit Bats when he lived in Chicago. Excons have been playing around the Carolinas and are now supporting the release of the CD/LP Sea Shanties that was engineered and mixed by Julian Dreyer at Echo Mountain in Asheville. ... more
