No time to inspect quality This road is bringing us forward Those days of abject poverty Are gone We’re Centurions You’ve come a long way baby We’re over powered And over power My world was unfortified This town will be built today Here comes the reigning apostate Good news? Let us take a bath
2.
I see you uptown Living off the ground from a window Why should I care Though I tend to stare from a shadow To my surprise you bleed Suffering in ways That I, couldn’t know Snapped back to a life Kids and a wife in a castle of a bungalow Living is easy in the summertime I listen to the weatherman Tell me, where the wind blows It’s time for a season change I hear the fish jumping Will I feel the splash? We go to the westside Cause it’s where we ride on holiday To the brewery Homemade jewelry by the railroad tracks Those apartments in the way The kids shouldn’t play Don’t they see the traffic If only I got in the renovation I could finally buy that boat that I wanted
3.
A neighbor pulled up next to me, I was on my way to the bank He rolled down his window and said my tire was flat on one side I drove off in a hurry who’s got time for that now Singings Satisfaction got to make a transaction by five I’m undone, you see through Protection is for battle Pour me out at your mercy Clutching fists… They hold nothing What’s all this fussing, daddy’s breaking out the fat calf Guess I’ll tag along but I won’t sing a song for that guy Everybody knows, I deserve better than this Just another drink, chisel you a piece of my heart I hear something, Is it the great wind Or the earthquake, maybe the fire Or could it be, entirely…

The forecast is ominous Creatures can sometimes tell Parading in the rainstorm We don’t ever lose Every now and then I feel a drop of rain We get it all and we don’t cry Two toned apocalypse I’m seeing what I want Making big stacks of denarii Haven’t seen the neighbors for a while Every now and then I feel a drop of rain We get it all and we don’t cry People People Feeling Unequal

Sailor 04:02
When I was a sailor I know which way to go When I was a farmer I know which rows to sow When I was a race car driver I drive the fastest line When I nearly lost you the time felt all mine Land and sea All of your brothers treat me so unkind All of your sisters have all lost their minds All of your mothers are waiting for their time All of your fathers have left you far behind Land and sea Standing at the castle I can see for miles Standing at the station the trains all pass me by Standing at the exit doorway will never ease my mind Standing next to you dear will make our lives divine Land and sea Cant you be All for me
6.
Frontline 05:21
I didn’t see you at the end of last season They said you were on the boulevard It’s been a year and I’ve noticed the reason You chose to play your silly game See you on down by the waterline Under the pier watch out for the fishing line I roll over and hate to think of the time Cause I’m heading out to the frontline On down the road by the produce and peanuts There you are at the laundromat Case quarters, the soap was generic I’d never seen you smell so nice Who loves a man in uniform? (Mae West or Gang of Four)
7.
I will be the one to go away today Standard protocol for this moment caught me off guard but I say OK Impossible times have taken it’s toll Stand up straight for the camera Heaven will lift me up and away I don’t believe the history is all we have to see The time is now I will disappear completely Justify, I don’t know it Justify, What good does it do Justify Open the window This cloud reigns A Love Supreme Is there a limitation to the way that we move Springtime for imagination deep cleaning the halls we know Dance with the face dance with the heart Reflections of you on me
8.
Handstand 05:36
Have you entered a room and felt like a dead man Instead of a tomb, fake agenda and a handstand Did you pick up the kid? I know what you hid All in time I can’t take the freedom to make up my mind You know what I’d do. Stay broke all the time Do you suffer or love? Free like a dove You’ll be fine What are the words to explain the darkness from the light All that I know is what’s seen, and it just don’t seem right Hazel Motes is a man with cold blood on his hands How do you make a man where warm blood flows at night Can I enter the womb? It’s alright ma, It’s just a flesh wound. Standing at the gate side Are you born from above? Come on give me a shove All in time

Lowlights 05:36
When I try to talk about how we tried to work it out Can’t pretend that I'm amused When you decided to walk, I don't remember any talk Just relief that it was through My friends say it's ok just remember the good days but my mind is wound up tight All I recall are the lowlights When I try to wait it out i just watch you storm around I cant pretend dark days are through When you decided to hide, there weren't no search party sent out Just relief no more evil eye My friends say its ok just remember the good things but my mind is wound up tight All I remember are the lowlights

about

We all sing songs. Sometimes we praise, sometimes we lament. Sometimes we try to find ways to share experiences from our real lives. Sometimes we sing to escape pain and point to an alternative reality. On this record we’re sailing through some choppy seas. Perhaps you’ve felt the dangerous currents too. Our response is to sing because even life in the chaotic waters is better with a soundtrack.
